For the second year in a row, no Florida players made the coaches’ preseason All-SEC first team offense ot defense. A total of eight Florida players were named to one of the teams, with kicker Caleb Sturgis making the first team on special teams. He was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award last season.

On defense, DT Sharrif Floyd, LB Jonathon Bostic and SS Matt Elam made the second team while DT Dominique Easley and LB Jelani Jenkins made the third team.

Andre Debose made the second-team special teams unit as a return specialist.

Not surprisingly, the offense placed only one player to the coaches’ teams. LT Xavier Nixon made it on the third team. Florida’s offense ranked 105th nationally last season as the team went 7-6, a drop from 2010 when the offense ranked 82nd and the team posted an 8-5 record.

Ole Miss, Missouri and Vanderbilt joined Florida as the only teams without players named to the first team offense or defense.
